Open Applications for bloomfield Municipal Youth Internship Program

Applications are now open for Bloomfield Fellows in grades 7, 8 or ninth for the city’s youth internship program to be held July 11-23 on the Bloomfield College campus.

“Academics will not be informed how our local municipal government works, but they will also have an idea of what life is like on a college campus. We hope this will inspire academics interested in government to further explore this as a school and career option and give more insight into how their local government works,” said Mayor Michael Venezia.

The internship program will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a. m. -shirts to be worn for the duration of the programme. Lunch will also be provided daily.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our Bloomfield students and we are thrilled to be marrying Bloomfield College and Dr. Evans,” said Counselor Sarah Cruz. “It’s vital that our younger generation feels included in our government and it’s a wonderful way for them to be informed of how it all works and to be encouraged to get more involved. “

To be eligible, the student must be a resident of Bloomfield Township, must be enrolled in grades 7, 8 or 9 and must be able to attend the 10 days of the internship. Along with the application, interested parties are also asked to write a non-public page about their interests, hobbies, why they need to participate, and what they hope to learn from the internship.
