A woman was shocked this week to be informed that she was caught sunbathing on her lawn as the city updated its parcel records.
Dunja MacAlister from Cape Town, South Africa, shared the story on Reddit on Tuesday, where it went viral with more than 61,000 votes in favor and thousands of comments.
Giving up the suit for a while to sunbathe is unusual: In a 2013 survey via Expedia, 33% of passersby said they would never go topless to the beach, while others hinted they might or admitted they had in the past in the long run. .
Germany is home for most people to opt for some topless tanning, with 17% admitting to going to the beach naked. In contrast, only 5% of Americans say they have gone to the beach naked.
MacAlister was home when she spent a summer afternoon sunbathing and lying in the living room chair. But earlier this week, he discovered that his sunbathing had been immortalized forever.
“My husband discovered the symbol and thought it was funny,” she told Newsweek. “He has to look for asset lines and in doing so he checked our space and then discovered the symbol. “
