North Shore Rescue Rescues Two Injured Hikers from An Icy Ravine in West Vancouver

On Friday, North Shore Rescue members will take care of two injured hikers from Mount Strachan’s Strachan Meadows, one of the 3 mountains that make up the Cypress Mountain ski hotel in West Vancouver.

Ground and air crews, an emergency physician, lift technicians, and a Level 2 avalanche forecaster.

NSR and Talon Helicopters controlled to hoist the two injured hikers, who slipped and slipped on the icy terrain and injured themselves in the old debris from the avalanche as they slid, NSR reported around nine o’clock Friday night.

Both subjects required medical attention through our member of the complex medical team and required evacuation with winch.

Conditions are incredibly variable right now in the mountains and can range from hard ice to thigh-high sleet, depending on location and weather.
