NFL rumors: Mohamed Sanu’s initial for patriots’ release

The New England Patriots moved to the receiver open Wednesday night when they decided to cut one of their own.

The Patriots are reportedly making plans to free Mohamed Sanu after the 31-year-old played only eight games in New England.

Sanu told NFL reporter Josina Anderson that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick called him to gillette Stadium facility to tell her the news.Sanu shared his reaction a little later.

“(Belichick) told me it wasn’t going to work, which I respect,” Sanu told Anderson.”Personally, I think it was about money. I need to play where I’m valued.”

Sanu acquired for a second-round selection midway through the 2019 season and put 26 passes into his 8 games because he struck through a sprained ankle at the top he suffered on a return of clearing.

As Sanu pointed out, the measure has significant monetary implications as the Patriots will save $6.5 million after their release. It also adjusts the Patriots’ open receiver symbol for the 2020 season.
