New videos to stream this weekend on Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, Amazon Prime and more

Another weekend, batch of displays and videos to notice on all your favorite streaming platforms.

There are many new things this weekend, but don’t confuse quantity and quality. There are some really impressive spin-offs of other popular screens on Netflix and Amazon, and a pretty poignant indie movie is coming to Apple TV.

Let’s cut for the healthy. Here’s what’s new that’s still streaming this weekend on all your favorite streaming platforms.

If you enjoyed Castlevania on Netflix (or video games, or both), feel very happy to bite your fangs in this stunning spin-off set during the French Revolution. Castlevania Nocturne features the origin story of Richter Belmont and a new Vampire Hunt and Depravity logo story. Delicious.

If you like the sarcastic and bloody X-rated superhero black comedy The Boys, you should definitely connect with Gen V, the new spin-off set in the same universe. It’s essentially The Boys Meet Harry Potter, which takes place at Godolkin University. School of Crimefighting, where survivors are trained to become, well, superheroes (and usually terrible human beings). It’s at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes lately, so I’m high hopeful.

It wasn’t on my radar at all, but it looks weirdly cool. As a single father of a teenage daughter, who plays guitar and writes songs, this feels like a comforting dose of reality. And it’s Irish, and I love Irish.

Somehow, I forgot to come up with the next one, even though I had written notes about it myself, however, I blame it on the existing lack of blood I’m facing, which puts me in a bad mood and overwhelms me in mental confusion. I’m pretty unhappy, but I think the next one might cheer me up.

The first of four Wes Anderson shorts to premiere on Netflix, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, is a 40-minute visual strength excursion from the eccentric director based on a short story by Roald Dahl about a player who learns a mystical meditation strategy that allows us to see him through playing cards. The short film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Dev Patel, Ben Kingsley and Richard Ayoade, as well as Ralph Fiennes, who plays himself. Three more adaptations of Anderson’s Dahl will soon be available, adding The Swan, The Rat Hunter and Venom. How funny!

Lately I’m watching season 3 of Only Murders In The Building and I just finished season 2 of Reservation Dogs. Surely both are great. I have a theory about the identity of the murderer in the first case, which you can read here.

I also check out Ahsoka, who has his final episode this week, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. I’ve combined emotions about those two series, even though Ahsoka is usually very smart now (after 3 boring first episodes), even if she still has some issues.

Daryl Dixon has been a matching bag. His first episode was bad. His second episode was great. Then his third episode was still bad. Will episode four be good? We’ll see this Sunday!
