New Just Cause Game Canceled Ahead of Full Release

Square Enix has announced the discontinuation of its Just Cause game for mobile devices ahead of its official release.

Just Cause Mobile was announced at The Game Awards 2020 and promised a storytelling crusade with co-op missions and competitive multiplayer. Bring a parachute, a wingsuit and a grappling hook closer.

The game’s online page and Twitter account have now gone offline, as Square Enix is cutting the game and opting not to see it until its release. An archived edition of the game’s online page indicates that regional early access to Just Cause Mobile was shut down in February of this year. Like many mobile games, Square Enix introduced the game seamlessly in some territories, and the plan was to eventually release it everywhere, that doesn’t happen anymore.

According to VGC, Anne-Lou Grosbois-Favreau, Square Enix’s logo manager, said in a note, “It’s wonderful that we’re announcing the end of Just Cause Mobile’s progression. “

Since July 3, the game no longer appears in virtual stores. Any in-game currency allocations that players may have will be refunded.

The Just Cause series debuted in 2006 and saw sequels released in 2010, 2015, and 2018. The franchise created through Avalanche Studios, which hasn’t released a game since Rage 2 in 2019. It’s now running on the Xbox and PC game Contraband, even though Avalanche or Microsoft haven’t shared data about it for a while.

Just Cause Mobile, the only mobile game based on a large intellectual property that has recently been removed. Earlier this year, EA shut down Battlefield Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile.
