MSI Enters PC Market With New ‘Summit’ Laptops

MSI is known for its PC gaming hardware, but is now expanding into a new market, laptops with business elegance, with a “Business and Productivity” product line that will target businesses and professionals.

The expansion will use MSI’s high-end, productivity-focused laptops and bundle them with a recently announced Summit series to take on the business PC market. Each product will also be branded with the new MSI corporate logo.

To deliver high-end performance, the notebooks will be built with Intel’s recently announced 11th generation Core “Tiger Lake” processors. They will also come with PCI Express 4. 0 SSD, quad-port Thunderbolt, and background noise generation from the microphone and speakers when initiating video calls.

In total, the corporation added 10 new laptops to the entire portfolio. Expect them to start arriving in October, which will put MSI in a closer festival with Dell, HP, and Lenovo, the heavy hitters in the business PC market.

To appeal to businesses, MSI is adding corporate security features to Summit business laptops, adding fingerprint readers and facial popularity logins via Windows Hello on select models. The machines can also password access their BIOS and SSD storage, in addition to USB and SD card slots.

Summit laptops can be configured with Intel’s vPro platform, allowing companies to manage machines remotely over the Internet. The laptops themselves are stylish too; MSI built the machines internally in a slim but strong aluminum casing, tested for military grade durability.

The Summit series begins with the B14 and B15 models, which will be available with 11th-generation Intel Core i7 U processors. However, the specs are pretty basic; you get a 1080p screen, a 720p internet camera, and the onboard graphics of Intel Tiger Lake processors. Expect laptops to last up to 10 hours with a bachelor charge.

Business buyers can also upgrade to the E15 and E14 styles, which come with touchscreens, an infrared Internet camera for facial recognition, and a discrete Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card. There is also an option for a 4K demo update. The E15 style is expected to last up to 16 hours with a bachelor charge, says MSI.

For buyers of a convertible laptop, MSI says it also runs on the E13, which can be turned into a tablet, thanks to its 360-degree hinge. There is no information on the price of any of the products yet.

The company is also updating its existing 14-inch and 15-inch laptops in the MSI Prestige and Modern product lines with Intel’s Tiger Lake silicon.

Earlier this year, we reviewed the 10th-generation Prestige models and were impressed. Buyers will soon be able to get them with even more processing power, thanks to 11th-generation Tiger Lake chips, which Intel says will offer a generational leap in capacity.

MSI will use silicon for a special computer called the Prestige 14 Evo. The product has been qualified under the new Intel Evo program, which requires PC makers to create high-end computers that perform well, not just in the lab, but in the real world.

The Prestige 14 Evo satisfies the needs through a low-power 1-watt 1080p display. As a result, the computer can offer more than 12 hours of battery life at a singles rate. A fast speed feature can also fill 1. 5 hours of battery life when plugged into an outlet for just 15 minutes.

The 2. 8-pound computer will be available with Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. It will also come with two Thunderbolt ports out of four, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5. 1, and a microSD card reader.
