The new occupational certification program sets out a path to the job market for academics and career changers by demonstrating their basic knowledge and talents to employers.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. , May 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — (ISC)², the world’s largest nonprofit agreement of qualified cybersecurity professionals, announced that more than 1,000 applicants for a career in cybersecurity have taken their first step toward professional certification by completing the entry-level cybersecurity certification (ISC) 2 pilot exam since the program’s launch on Jan. 31.
(ISC)2 created the certification to nurture a new generation of cybersecurity professionals entering the box, from recent college graduates to IT professionals in the process of recycling, who are looking to validate their security qualifications. The certification will provide employers with the assurance that newcomers have the fundamental knowledge, qualifications and talents to succeed in entry-level and junior positions.
“The exceptional reaction to our pilot program shows the pent-up yearning for this certification. Entry-level cybersecurity (ISC)2 certification fills a gap that the industry has struggled to fill for years and promises to be among the most dynamic, cybersecurity certifications in demand,” said Clar Rosso, CEO, (ISC)2. “We face a global cybersecurity deficit of more than 2. 7 million people. We can only close this hole if we build paths on the floor and make a career in cybersecurity more available to more people. Candidates who pass our exam will show employers that they can contribute to their organization’s missions and that they have the ability to be informed and grow at work. “
How the exam works The entry-level cybersecurity (ISC) certification pilot exam2 evaluates applicants in five areas: security principles, business continuity (BC), crisis recovery (DR) and incident reaction concepts, access concepts, network security, and security operations. You should have a review of the pilot exam and understand more main points about the content of each domain.
Candidates who pass the Entry Level Cybersecurity Certification (ISC) 2 pilot exam complete (ISC) 2 members, with access to continuing education, thought leadership, peer support, industry events, and other career advancement opportunities. Membership supports cybersecurity professionals in their fast and lasting careers as they gain experience and pathways to more complex and specialized certifications, such as the world-famous CISSP (ISC)2.
