LOS ANGELES (AP) – Mookie Betts hit 3 house races thursday night for the sixth time in his career, tying a primary league record held by Sammy Sosa and Hall of Famer Johnny Mize.
The Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder threw a two-run shot at the opposite innings of the San Diego Padres, then added a solo home race in the fourth and a two-run series in the fifth.
With a tie at the major league brand through four home runs in a singles game, Betts hit a bachelor in the box in the seventh.
Betts struck first, where manager Dave Roberts hesitated to lock him up. The 2018 American League Most Valuable Player said when he acquired from Boston in a successful off-season industry that he thought he would lead with Los Angeles.
