MINISFORUM S100-N100 is a pocket-sized Alder Lake-N PC with Power over Ethernet support

The MINISFORUM S100-N100 is a small computer with an Intel N100 Alder Lake-N processor, 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256 GB of UFS 2. 1 storage.

Small enough for hassle-free compatibility in a pocket, the small computer also has a 2. 5GbE Ethernet port and supports PoE (Power over Ethernet), meaning you can get a high-speed Internet connection. and force the supply of a single cable.

However, you don’t want to use any of those features. The small computer also supports WIFi 6 and Bluetooth 5. 2 for wireless connectivity and has a USB 3. 1 Type-C port that can be used for power and data.

Other ports come with two USB 3. 1 Type-A ports and one HDMI port. The computer also has a built-in microphone for voice input, and judging by the length and ventilation of the device, it most likely has an internal fan in the case for active cooling.

I’m tempted to call this a PC stick, since it appears to be about the same size as some of the other mini PCs that’ve shared that label in recent years. But typical PC-on-a-stick computers have an HDMI connector at one end that allows you to plug the whole computer directly into the HDMI input on a TV or monitor. The S100-N100, on the other hand, has a more traditional HDMI port, which means you’re going to need an HDMI cable to connect the system to an external display.

There’s no word on pricing or availability yet, but PC Watch first spotted the MINISFORUM S100-N100 at CES this past month and posted a series of images showing the tiny computer from all angles. And YouTuber ShortCircuit provided some more important points in a video showcasing the new MINISFORUM products at the demo at CES.

If it price under $100, it will be perfect replacement for pi5, and can be used as edges server/nodes.

As a MSP, was looking for something like that, that can be put in client premises to run as a zabbix/checkMK/NMS nodes.

The N100 has enough power for me, as most consumers have less than 50-60 devices per site.

Perfect for a Kiosk PC that still uses x86 more often

Maybe it’s too heavy to plug directly into HDMI, so they provided you with the port. It provides a lot more flexibility that way, so I prefer it. Too bad there’s no passive cooling.
