Xbox Unveils Cloud-Centric Strategy: New Hardware, Servers, Regional Plans Last year, Microsoft officially showed years of rumors and announced plans for “standalone streaming devices” that can only stream Xbox games through the company’s xCloud service. Now, however, the company says it’s necessarily going back to the drawing board and “moving away from the existing iteration” of this streaming-centric hardware.
In a message to Windows Central, a Microsoft spokesperson reconfirmed that the company was “working on a game streaming device, called Keystone, that can be connected to any TV or monitor without the need for a console. “The spokesperson warned that it could be some time before we see this curtain finalized and published:

Data miners recently discovered the codename Keystone amid lists of operating formulas in some Microsoft codes, leading to the hypothesis that the product line will arrive in a final edition or announcement.
