Microsoft showed its original open origin project, Natural Language Web (NLWEB), in its annual developer conference, Microsoft Build 2025. This tool aims to be less difficult to notice content, especially for AI agents.
“Our purpose is simple: to help every developer build applications and agents that empower other people and organizations around the world,” said Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s president and chief executive, referring to the open online page that the corporation strives to create.
Microsoft defines the open Internet agent as “AI agents that make decisions and perform responsibilities on behalf of users or organizations. “These AI agents can interact with their environment, gather knowledge, and use that knowledge to carry out autonomous responsibilities to obtain predetermined goals.

Instead of forcing developers to create individual conversational interfaces for Internetite, the Microsoft Internet Herbal Language (NLWEB) allows developers to seamlessly integrate AI-powered conversational functions.
Because it is open source, anyone can use NLWEB to convert a classic online page into a conversational.
NLWEB evolved through Microsoft Technical Fellow Ramanathan V. guha, known for his fundamental paintings in Internet standards.
“Like HTML’s advent, it has facilitated the creation of an website, we need NLWEB to allow any Internet editor to believe without problems in intelligent herbal language for its site,” says Microsoft’s document.
NLWEB purposes An model context protocol (MCP) on a special side called Context Model (MCP), evolved through Anthrope. MCP is an open source protocol that allows Internet sites to exchange data with AI agents, which allows communication between agents.
“MCP is to NLWEB what HTTP is to HTML,” the NLWEB documentation says.
Guha describes MCP as a way to ask for a herbal language consultation and obtain a structured response. “The concept is that, having those personalized one give how Shopify now has with Openai, it is an open protocol,” he added.
