Microsoft has joined the stack developing media detection technologies (also known as deepfakes) with the launch of a video and photo research tool to generate a manipulation score.
The tool, called Video Authenticator, provides what Microsoft calls “a percentage of probability or confidence score” that the media has been artificially manipulated.
“In the case of a video, you can provide this percentage in real time on the symbol while the video is playing,” he wrote in a blog post pronouncing the technology.”This works by detecting the melting limit of sophisticated and deepfake bleaching elements or gray degrees that may not be detectable through the human eye.”
