Microsoft finally lets you access your iPhone in Windows 11 from the Start Menu — here’s how

This week, Microsoft announced a Windows 11 update that, despite everything, allows you to access your iPhone from the start menu, similar to access to the Android phone that already existed since last year.

The update lets you view your iPhone’s battery status, cellular connectivity and recent activities within Windows 11. It also allows you to access calls and messages.

In addition, the update allows users to pour out files between Android and iPhone devices. You can “send files” when you access your phone to start moving content.

The setup process is pretty straightforward.

Open the start menu, then “iPhone” discovered in the correct appearance panel. The commands will seem and simply stay with them to create a connection between their iPhone and their computer.

At the time of writing, the function is implemented in Windows Insiders in the development and beta channels. To use it, you want to have one of Windows 11’s preview compilations: Build 4805 or higher for Beta Insiders and build 26120. 300 or higher for developers.

You’ll also need to have edition 1. 24121. 30. 0. 0 or awesome for dial-up, and your PC wants Bluetooth capabilities.

It does not seem that you have to access this function. If you’re running Windows 11 Pro Education or Education SKUs, you may not be able to access the update.
