Earlier this year, Microsoft announced its Xbox 20/20 initiative, in which the console manufacturer promised to release new Xbox data monthly for the full 2020. Barely a month after the initiative started, Microsoft appeared to be on the verge of Xbox 20/20. Since then, Xbox news has been inconsistent, leading Microsoft to, however, officially remove the initiative.
On their Xbox 20/20 website, the console manufacturer added a note from the editor that says, “The Xbox has a huge year ahead of us, as shown below. After re-evaluating our schedule for the rest of the year, we made a decision to avoid using the term “Xbox 20/20” because it meant that we would publish data in one way, through a compromised monthly program. We have much more than percentage with news about Xbox Series X, new games like Halo : Infinite games and in the cloud through Xbox Game Pass. We will share this news in other ways. It can be a committed program, YouTube videos, a partnership with others, or share the latest via Xbox Wire. We must remain flexible in the way we attach with you. »
Despite the premature end of the Xbox 20/20 initiative, Microsoft still has a lot to announce in 2020. The console manufacturer is rumored to celebrate an occasion e late this month, officially delivering and presenting the Xbox S series. Microsoft has still announced the value of the X Series. Finally, many Xbox studios have shown their existing plans.
All this to say that even though the Xbox 20/20 initiative is over, I hope Xbox enthusiasts will still have a lot to do with it in the last few months leading up to the next generation.
