Microsoft Edge 85 brilliant features that can cause Chrome users to transfer browsers.
The Microsoft Edge browser is gaining popularity, achieving a position at the moment in the desktop market, only Google Chrome. Chrome and Edge rely on the Chromium browser engine, so there are similarities in terms of functionality, however, many users are looking to absolutely avoid Google’s installations to protect their security and privacy.
Edge has been incredibly crazy new features in recent months, and now just added a lot of new features to Edge 85, which you can start using from now on. Many of them target others fleeing the house because of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as education, as several schools operate online. So what’s new?
The Microsoft Edge Collections feature, which we’ll collect, percentage, and organize the content you find on the web, is very popular and more powerful.
This happens with a function called “Collections Sent to OneNote” that does precisely what it says: you can send your Edge collections to One Note as to Word and Excel.
Collections are now also available on iOS and Android, allowing you to sync your devices, Microsoft said in a blog post.
There’s also vital data for businesses: Edge 85 also loads the ability to sync favorites and browser settings between Active Directory profiles in your own environment without the need for cloud synchronization. In the meantime, the organization’s policy has been loaded to allow directors to upload site application combinations that are approved for publication without the confirmation message.
Meanwhile, Edge is adding features that help protect your young children when browsing online through its newly introduced Family Circle Security app. You can now get activity reports about the sites your kids stop on and the search terms they enter, and you can see the content your kids see. InPrivate navigation is also locked in Edge to ensure the safety of your children.
Among other features, Microsoft Edge’s built-in PDF player has added screen reader and focus support, ideal for students and running from home.
Edge has also recently added privacy controls, collection functionality innovations, and a PDF reading feature. Another winning feature has already been included in Edge 84: the ability to manage notifications. A wonderful way to fight those annoying pop-ups.
If you’re already using Edge, this update deserves to arrive in the coming days. If you’re using another browser like Chrome and need to replace it or are looking for something more secure and private, you can check Edge.
Microsoft’s Edge browser is not as privacy focused as Firefox, but it does have the benefit of being similar to Chrome, without being as intrusive. Edge has also got some business-focused features that will increasingly suit those working from home.
