(Bloomberg) – The Microsoft Corp Xbox team. It has delayed “Halo Infinite”, the largest video game scheduled for release in November of its new console, in component due to the demanding situations of running from home the Covid-19 outbreak.
The update was made “to make sure your team has enough time to deliver a Halo gaming experience that fits our vision,” according to a message posted on Halo’s Twitter account.
Halo is a billion-dollar franchise that started with the first Xbox about two decades ago. The delay can affect sales of the new Xbox Series X console, which the company has shown will go on sale in November.
Originally announced at the E3 2018 conference, Halo Infinite remained under the radar until last month, when a video presentation was presented for the upcoming Xbox Series X games. The game’s photographs were largely filmed, and enthusiasts criticized the graphics and gameplay. Soon after, netpainting leader John Junyszek wrote in a blog post that the team had heard comments from fans. “We have paintings to do to deal with some of those spaces and build the point of loyalty and overall presentation for the ultimate combination,” he added.
Microsoft cited delays resulting from a progression team running from the pandemic home. Some parts of the game’s progression are difficult to achieve remotely.
Other Sony’s Xbox and PlayStation games Corp.se postponed, and Microsoft’s leading game director, Phil Spencer, said in May that the pandemic affects game progression more strongly than the console’s calendar structure.
343 Industries, the Microsoft game studio that builds Halo, was quick to finish the game and learned that this would not be imaginable in November. Even preparing the demo for last month’s presentation was difficult, said one user familiar with the decision. Some of the completion and loyalty issues that affected the demo can be advanced with additional time, the user said, who asked not to be known during internal deliberations.
Even before Covid, Halo Infinite’s progression had been turbulent. Last year, the game’s director and executive manufacturer left.
