The city of Marlborough has filed a lawsuit against CapGemini America, the North American subsidiary of a French software and computer company, for taxes on unpaid assets similar to its former offices at 45 Bartlett St.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Middlesex Superior Court, alleges that CapGemini failed to pay taxes on private assets for fiscal year 2018 and the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2020. The city costs $87,605, plus a 15% interest rate from the end. of October 2023 and the prices related to the filing of the lawsuit.
This is the first lawsuit filed through the City of Marlborough for taxes on unpaid assets since at least 2013, according to Middlesex Superior Court records.
CapGemini employs more than 350,000 people in more than 50 countries, according to the company’s website. The company generated profits of $23. 87 billion in fiscal 2022, according to financial filings from Euronext Paris.
CapGemini is currently listed as a tenant at 45 Bartlett St. , according to CoStar’s advertising real estate database.
The company responded to a request for comment from WBJ. The City of Marlborough Legal Department declined to comment.
