Shortly after Apple announced its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro M3 computer, I started getting emails from friends asking for my opinion on this new computer and whether they deserved to buy it. An attractive thread in those requests is that many owned older MacBooks and had already upgraded M3 max.
Now that I’ve had a control style for a while now, it’s by far the most productive computer on the market. So far, in my controls, I haven’t encountered a workload that stresses him out a bit.
What’s new in the range:
★ The new M3 chip family: M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max
★ Next-generation GPU architecture
★ Faster processor
★ A striking Space Black aluminum terminal is an option. I looked at the Space Black version and it’s amazing.
Apple’s third-generation M3 processor lineup offers the most rugged computer the company has ever made. The 2023 edition of the 16-inch MacBook Pro (from $2499) includes state-of-the-art components.
This edition is obviously aimed at the maximum of professionals who are not easy. It’s the MacBook Pro for media creators, knowledge scientists, engineers, and animators — people who want high-end functionality and are willing to pay a premium price for it. I expect it to be a big hit in Hollywood, where they want the toughest computers you can have to create movie graphics, especially for outdoor shoots.
All 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro models come with Liquid Retina XDR and a full set of ports.
It comes with the largest power supply in the computer lineup, but that’s understandable given its power requirements.
The M3 chip family continues Apple’s super-speed silicon innovation. M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max are the first private computer chips built with the latest generation of 3 nanometers. A next-generation GPU, these chips constitute the biggest advancement in graphics architecture ever achieved for Apple silicon. With a revolutionary generation called Dynamic Caching, the GPU allocates local memory usage on the hardware in real time so that only the precise amount of memory needed for each task is used. This particularly increases the use and functionality of the GPU for most non-easy professional programs and games.
The GPU also brings new rendering features to Apple’s silicon, adding hardware-accelerated mesh shading for greater capacity and power with geometry processing, allowing for more visually complex scenes.
This updated 16-core neural engine, along with the new GPU, also makes it one of the most productive laptops to use with AI applications.
A note on this last point: today, almost all AI inference is done in the cloud and on resilient back-end servers. But it is very expensive and consumes a lot of energy. However, there is a lot of strain to shift some of the inference load to state-of-the-art or high-powered PCs and laptops. This new MacBook with M3 processors will be ideal for handling embedded inference, as the special new software being worked on today will make it possible.
These new MacBook Pros are also now Apple’s gaming laptops, as games load even faster and users will enjoy up to 50% faster frame rates. Here is a link to the detailed list of the new MacBook Pro M3 laptops – MacBook Pro – Technical specifications – Apple.
However, these laptops are heavy. Both models weigh about 4. 8 pounds. The MacBook Pro M3 offers up to 22 hours of video playback, while the M3 Pro and M3 Max offer up to 18 hours.
Since I tested those new MacBook Pros with the M3 Max processor, I advise my friends that, if they are forced users, they invest in the MacBook Pro with the M3 Max processor. This MacBook will fulfill all your wishes for a while. However, if you use it for more popular purposes like email, productivity, media streaming, etc. , the MacBook Pro with M2 processors better satisfies those desires.
The new MacBook Pro with M3 processors is now Apple’s computer in its catalog. This new edition is the one that the festival will continue for a while.
