Shares of Future Group of Companies rallied on Thursday, reaching as much as 14%, a day after the Delhi High Court suspended arbitration between Amazon and Future.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday suspended the Amazon-Future arbitration by taking a position before a three-member arbitral tribunal on the latter’s Rs 24. 5 billion with Reliance.

It suspended a single judge’s January 4 order rejecting the Future group’s two requests to ask the arbitral tribunal to rule on its request to end the arbitration proceedings before proceeding.

Shares of Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd were up 13. 81%, Future Supply Chain Solutions Ltd was up 9. 52%, Future Consumer Ltd was up 9. 33%, Future Retail Ltd was up 8. 58% and Future Enterprises Ltd was up 8. 24% due to BSE.

Shares of Future Group of Companies had fallen 4% on Wednesday.

A court of Chief Justice DN Patel and Jyoti Singh Jyoti Justice stated that there is prima facie evidence in favour of appellants Future Retail Ltd and Future Coupons Pvt Ltd and that if they are granted a permanence, it will cause them irreparable loss.

“The review of the order issued through the Competition Commission of India on December 17, 2021, by which the approval (for the agreement with Future Group) granted on November 28, 2019 was suspended and showed that there was a suppression of the facts. through the defendants (Amazon), there is prima facie evidence in favor of the appellants.

“If a stay is granted, it will cause irreparable loss to the appellants,” the court said.

The court said many things had been discussed on both sides, such as a final hearing on appeals and that all those grounds would be dealt with on Feb. 1, adding the maintainability factor.
