The Wi-Fi Alliance finalized the popular WiFi 7 earlier this year, paving the way for faster wireless speeds, lower latency, and improved functionality when connecting to multiple devices. But this is a new popular one. And that means upgrading your networking appliance can be expensive.
Most WiFi 7 routers available so far sell for around $300 or more (with some models costing more than double that). The good news is that there is now a less expensive option. The bad news is that the explanation for why the TP-Link Archer BE230 is a WiFi 7 router that sells for just $99 is because it lacks some of the key features of the more expensive models.
Available exclusively at Walmart, this $99 WiFi 7 router is a dual-band BE3600 router that doesn’t work on the 6GHz band, which means the bandwidth and transmission speeds will be particularly lower than what you’d get with a tri-band WiFi 7 router. reaching just under 2,900 Mbps in the five-GHz band and just under 700 Mbps in the 2. 4 GHz band.
On the plus side, the router also has a 2. 5 Gbps WAN port, a 2. 5 Gbps LAN port, and 3 x 1 Gbps LAN ports for stressed data, 4 external beamforming antennas, and EasyMesh support, allowing you to create a wireless mesh network.
Samsung’s auto-locker is enabled by default on Galaxy phones that ship with One UI 6. 1. 1 (including the new Z Flip6 and Z Fold6), preventing you from loading apps outside of the Google or Samsung app stores . But the automatic blocker can be turned off.
Apple has reportedly been running a foldable iPhone for years. The most recent rumor suggests that the first to launch could simply be a foldable phone that would arrive in 2026.
Amazon’s device business lost more than $25 billion between 2017 and 2021, largely because other people who buy Echo devices at below-cost costs never finish them to buy things or sign up for subscription services. That’s why Amazon is expected to launch a premium edition of Alexa soon for consumers who need to sign up for a subscription.

I can’t say I’m surprised when an echo point I won serves as a Bluetooth speaker and nothing more. But I’m wondering exactly what they think other people with a healthy social life would need an Alexa subscription in general. Will they put useful features that you can already use, like a simple hands-free home intercom, a payment, or something like that?
