Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is expected to deliver a 10% increase in CPU and graphics functionality and a 20% improvement in AI functionality compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while reducing force input by up to 30%. It’s no surprise that an organization of phone makers plans to use the new chip in flagship devices that are expected to launch later this year.
One of those companies? OSOM Products, which was founded through an organization of other people who worked at Essential before the teletelephone maker’s closure. The company’s first telephone is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022 and we already know it will have a ceramic and steel body, and software that emphasizes privacy. Now, we also know what kind of strength the telephone will have, as it is forced through Qualcomm’s toughest smart telephone chip to date.
Here’s a roundup of recent tech news from around the web.
