Intel may have recently introduced a line of 55-watt Alder Lake-HX series processors designed to give laptops some of the strength of a desktop. But PC maker XMG went ahead and installed a true desktop processor in its Apex 15 Max laptop, which can be configured with a 16-core, 32-thread AMD Ryzen nine-core 5nine50X chip running at 88 watts.
In other recent tech news on the web, manufacturer GPD is getting closer to launching the GPD Win Max 2 mini/gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 6800U processor, and the CEO of AYA has shown that the upcoming AYA Neo Slide demo will be a 6-inch 1080p demo that slides up to reveal a keyboard.
