A Lexus dealership is under construction on Mill Plain Boulevard, east of Vancouver.
New Jersey-based Holman Automotive Group introduced the dealership in January, according to plan documents submitted to the city of Vancouver.
Plans show the dealership would be just north of Mill Plain Boulevard and west of the planned southeast expansion of 139th Avenue at Landing in Vancouver.
The broker sells and services Lexus vehicles. Most recently, Holman operates Lexus from Seattle to Lynnwood, Kuni BMW to Beaverton, Oregon, and Lexus from Portland.
Holman has had a corporate office in Vancouver since the automotive group bought Kuni Automotive in 2016. Kuni was based in Vancouver, with 14 dealerships in five states.
Vancouver doesn’t have a Lexus dealership. Lexus is the luxury logo of Toyota Motor Corp.
Holman, a family-owned business, started with a single Ford dealership in 1924. Now the automotive group sells brands Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Bugatti, Cadillac, Ford, Honda, Ineos, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Lots, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Toyota.
It operates in 8 states: Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
The luxury car dealership will be the first of its caliber to recently set up shop in Vancouver. Electric car maker Tesla opened a dealership in the city in 2023.
The grantee’s proposal would require adjustments to the existing mixed-use master plan governing the surrounding properties, all of which are owned by Landing at Vancouver.
Shabby grass and sidewalks lately cover the site. Holman plans to do it all and install new landscaping and new parking spaces, with 191 parking spaces.
