Although Medicare requires prior authorization for home sleep studies, peak-known fitness plans still require it for its members, virtually reducing the financial incentive to perform HSAT. With this update, at most, all CWB members will gain advantages from the ability to perform sleep apnea control at home without pre-authorization charges.
An estimated 54 to 60 million more people in the United States suffer from sleep apnea, with approximately 80% of undiagnosed and even more untreated cases. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which breathing stops and begins again and again. Sleep apnea is also linked to other serious physical fitness problems, especially cardiovascular disease.
“We are very pleased that patients undiagnosed with a suspected obstructive sleep apnea can now have less difficult access to the tests they want to verify their diagnosis and control their condition,” said Gilad Glick, president and ceo of Itamar Medical. “Sleep apnea is not just a serious disease; it is also an independent indicator and a threat to other serious fitness conditions. We are committed to advancing to lead the way in removing the barriers that sleep apnea patients face by finding a more effective option to the classic attention route so that others can be diagnosed with sleep apnea safely, temporarily and successfully from the comfort of their own bed. Array I would like to thank Baker Tilly’s budget fitness team for their help on our market access roadmap and this first win.
