China will no longer be the world’s production epicenter in the future, according to Foxconn, Apple’s largest home chain partner, which has expanded its operations in other countries amid the U.S.-China industrial war.

“Whether in India, Southeast Asia or the Americas, there will be a production ecosystem in all of them,” said Young Liu, president of Foxconn, according to Bloomberg. Liu boldly proclaimed that while China will remain a key place for Foxconn factories, “the country’s days as the factory of the world are over.”

The report indicates that Foxconn’s outdoor production capacity in China now accounts for 30% of its total, up from 25% last June. Foxconn is one of many Apple suppliers that has expanded its operations in India and Vietnam in particular.

Earlier this week, he reported that Foxconn had begun his seasonal hiring frenzy to help with the production of the iPhone 12. Apple is expected to announce 4 iPhone 12 models this year, adding a 5.4-inch model, two 6.1-inch models, and a 6.7-inch model, all with OLED displays, 5G connectivity, and a new flat edge design.

While new iPhones begin shipping in late September, Apple recently indicated that the offer would be available “a few weeks later” this year. Foxconn expects its effects of the third quarter to decrease due to the delay.
