Apple is expected to roll out iOS 17. 1 in the coming weeks, bringing with it a new Apple Music Favorites feature, new sleep settings, AirDrop on mobile devices, accessibility changes, and more.
The update, which will mark Apple’s first major release for iOS 17 so far, will also fix French radiation issues with the iPhone 12, in which officials felt the device emitted more electromagnetic waves than allowed, which could be absorbed through the frame.
As reported via French site iPhoneSoft, the Agence Nationale des Fréquences (ANFR) in France added this week on its online page that Apple “is committed to rolling out this software update to all French iPhone 12 users no later than October 24,” likely confirming that iOS 17. 1 will be available in the next two weeks.
iOS 17. 1 will introduce a new Smart Cards feature for iPhone, which will show UK users their credit card balances from the Wallet app, innovations in Dynamic Island, and the ability for a quick album of images to be displayed on the lock screen. Photo Shuffle for lock screen settings.
