– Wednesday, August 26, 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Virtual press event Join us for a virtual press occasion with comments from Daniel H. Weiss, President and CEO, and Max Hollein, Director, broadcast from the met’s iconic galleries. The show will feature a first glimpse of Making The Met, 1870-2020; and comments through the artist Hector Zamora about his commission for the Cantor Roof Garden.

– Thursday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to noon: Presentation to the press of the exhibition Media is invited to see the 3 exhibitions that will begin on August 29 – Making The Met, 1870-2020; Rooftop Gardens Commission: Hector Zamora, Lattice Detour; and Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle, from 10 a.m. to noon, then explore the sightings of museum members that day from noon to 7 p.m. The exhibitions that opened some time before the transitional closure and that have been prolonged will also be open at noon, adding Sahel: Art and Empires on the banks of the Sahara (until 26 October); In pursuit of fashion: the Sandy Schreier collection (until 27 September); and The Last Century of Photography: Ann Tenenbaum And Thomas H. Lee Collection (until November 30).

Saturday, August 29, 10 a.m.: The Metropolitan Museum of Art reopens at 10 a.m., the Met will reopen its doors to visitors. Photo shoots will be held with Daniel H. Weiss, president and ceo of the Met, and Max Hollein, director of the Met, on the steps of the museum.
