Intel Arrow Lake Comes to a Gaming PC Near You

Like their desktop counterparts, these computer processors will come with a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit), which deserves particularly AI performance. However, like their desktop counterparts, most computers with an Arrow Lake-HX or H CPU will also have a dedicated GPU, relegating the NPU to lighter background AI tasks such as battery control.

Either way, those Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors will be discovered in some of the most productive gaming PCs next year. The processors will feature up to 24 high-end cores, with the Core Ultra 9 285HX having 8 functional cores and 16 power cores. Like previous generations of Intel processors, the functionality cores are reserved for heavier and educational work, while the power cores are reserved for background tasks.

Unlike past generations, the functionality cores are single-threaded, just like their desktop counterparts. However, thanks to the IPC innovations that Intel was able to make with this generation, it claims not to lose much in terms of functionality.

If you need to get your hands on a gaming computer with an Intel Core Ultra 200H or 200HX processor, start seeing it on store shelves over the next few months.

That’s pretty interesting I would have thought these processors would have been in Laptops last year.
