In progress of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: let’s communicate about the camera, the battery, this 6.9-inch screen

CNET is also available in Spanish.

Don’t show that anymore

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a beloved phone with power functions.

Somehow, this situation is the best verification of a phone at the moment. Life is not the same and we don’t know how the existing coronavirus pandemic can also permanently replace the way other people paint and live. An all-in-one device for paintings and recreation makes much more sense in our pre-pandemic era, but how does it have compatibility in a world where more people can paint from home and be less socially active, especially until there is a widespread vaccine? Here are my main observations so far. Note that since this is an ongoing review, my impressions may be replaced and deepened over time.

This coup of Note 20 Ultra is synonymous with business.

Everything on Samsung’s new phone is oversized, from the 6.9-inch screen to the huge one, and I mean HUGE, network cameras on the back. It measures 2 inches at the top and more than an inch wide, and protrudes.

Samsung has done a decent task in giving this camera stand as casual a look as possible, but it’s not yet my favorite look, and if you don’t use a holster to rotate it, I’m afraid any fall or scratch will scratch. Camera first. This has already happened to me with a phone and my ultra-large images were never smart again. Also, if you place the Note 20 Ultra, for example, on a table, and write on the screen, the camera stand will tilt the phone.

For me, the Note 20 Ultra is too wide to have compatibility comfortably in my hands, and it comes out of my back pocket in a way that would make the viewer nervous.

Although the screen is huge, which is wonderful for reading and watching videos, I should point out that in the existing environment where my computer looks like an extension of my arm, it will most likely go to house education on the 13th. . A phone’s thumb computer screen

Color: I can see why Samsung has made mystical bronze its signature color and has changed a bright end to a sublime and complicated matte sheen. It is bright and discreet, without shine and looks much less like a grease trap.

Occasional photography: Taking pictures is fun. The symbols are bright and the 5x optical zoom maintains a symbol quality high enough to continue using it. Wide-angle shots are a wonderful tool to have in the photographic arsenal to provide dramatic effect. Yes, the Note 20 Ultra continues Samsung’s trend of oversaturating secure shots, and 108-megapixel photography can produce combined results. More on that in my last review. All in all, I’m satisfied with the maximum of your shots.

Zooming is better: I’m glad the Note 20 Ultra is cut from the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 100x “spatial” zoom. My most productive photo with a 50x zoom assisted through AI was the one I was lucky to (see above). This looks good, but even with a viewfinder on the screen and a stabilization force like a tripod, the symbol jumps like crazy.

Screen Quality: The display measures 6.9 inches and, as always, bright and shiny. It was wonderful to read news, watch videos and scroll through the photos. See the opposite of the brightness below. Since the bezel is so thin, I keep pressing the sides of the phone (below), however, the symbol itself is fantastic, even with the default setting of FHD Plus of 2326 x 1080 pixels (this goes up to WQHD Plus, which is 3,088 x 1,440 pixels).

Pencil Tips: My favorite Galaxy Note team is here, like taking a very accurate screenshot, the S Pen, the Note 20 Ultra magnifying glass tool for reading online menus and too small sources (effortlessly), and seamlessly create a screen recording or SCREEN component GIF. You can also double-click the S Pen button to delete what you typed. There are a few others, such as writing about a PDF that you can import into the Notes app (yes!) And write down a screen. A new layout in the Notes app makes it easy to transfer between menu items.

Selfie Shutter: Taking a selfie with the S Pen is very simple when you press the stylus button in one hand without having to pull your arm out at an awkward angle or worry about dropping your phone. Facial filters for selfies are a smart way to raise warmth or dim it if a symbol is oversaturated.

Phone calls: who already uses a telephone? I do, especially now that I take a lot of professional calls while I’m walking. Every call sounded smart in my area, either through a mobile phone and apps like WhatsApp and Slack. Of course, your scenario would possibly vary depending on the service you live in, and the same applies to your 4G or 5G connection.

The S Pen is ideal for navigating, writing and any precision work, such as taking pictures of the room you need.

Battery life: After an asymmetrical first day, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s 4500mAh battery behaves more than I expected for a flagship phone, uf! On my most intense use day to date, it was at 35% after 12 o’clock (which included an hour and a portion of navigation on Google Maps) and was slowly emptying at 16% at 7am. This used the default 120 Hz display setting with adaptive brightness and no battery optimization settings. I’ve activated it now, so let’s see how it goes.

Edge Touch Rejection: I’ve begun to realize that thin glasses like a razor can interfere with the way I use the Note 20 Ultra, especially when I have lies on my back or side, and especially when I hit. The notification nuance will suddenly start to slide down as if you had invoked it, the dashboard screen might look or some other challenge may also interrupt my input. It’s not a decisive thing for me right now, however, it’s anything that happens almost every morning and night.

It’s heavy: after a day of searching, I was looking out of netflix before I fell asleep. After 10 minutes, my hand has become heavy to hold the telephone. I switched to my phone holder, hit the Note 20 Ultra on the stand and hit it in my belly. He staggered and swayed every time I laughed. He even fell once. Despite everything, I put the stand and the telephone on my bedaspect table and turned to the side to look, until I had a cricket around my neck and called it after about an hour. However, excellent sound quality and symbols.

The location of the S Pen: possibly anything I have to get used to, but so far, moving the right side of the phone to the left is not working very well for me. There is nothing inherent in design, however, for some reason, achieving it seems like an arduous task. Have you moved to accommodate the camera equipment? We’ll see if I’m getting ready for adjustments as they pass the tests.

Night screen brightness: With lighting devices off, Android Wind Down mode enabled and brightness has slid to its lowest settings, the screen is too bright to induce drowsiness. Chances are I’ll wake up in the middle of the night than go back to sleep. I’d love to see a more competitive environment.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra features a bright 6.9-inch display.

Wired headphones are not included in the box. My colleague Patrick Holland accepts this, and perhaps for you, it’s not a big deal, as Samsung turns users into wireless headphones like its Galaxy Buds Live (also known as Galaxy Beans). But the Galaxy Buds Live charges $170 and Samsung has spent years promoting the price of $99 of the stressed headphones included in the box. If you don’t care too much about wireless headphones (for example, they fall out of my ears or pick up the wind noise from outside), you automatically lose the price of $99 for the headphones provided, plus $170 or more. a lot, you end up in anything else. So, if you don’t already have headphones you need to use, your ownership charge just increased.

You can get a little toasty. My colleagues at CNET and I discovered that the Note 20 Ultra seemed to generate and burn a lot of heat, it’s a daily event. Nothing fancy, just a warmth emanating from phones (and laptops and other electronic devices) when working hard. On a hot summer day, it’s not the ultimate pleasant feeling in my pocket and hand, but in fact it’s not a deciding factor.

There’s still a lot to see, as the Note 20 Ultra starts to set up as a phone for next week. Keep reviewing as this test develops day after day.

The camera network is where Samsung needs Note 20 phones, and especially the Note 20 Ultra, to shine. He took a step back from the ostentation of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which had a 100x area zoom and a main camera capable of taking a 108 megapixel photo, to concentrate on the concept of cropping for more details.

Samsung has introduced the Note 20 Ultra, a 108 megapixel camera option: press it to turn it on when it needs full resolution. As for zooming, the Note 20 returns to 50x zoom, with the Note 20 setting to 30x.

It’s attractive to see Samsung backtrack like this, but the company responds to comments that the S20 Ultra is too expensive and that its 100x zoom is not smart or useful enough to justify the price.

The Note 20 Ultra has a 5x optical zoom, the camera shortcut equipment simplifies the choice of 2x and 4x zoom before switching to 10, 20 and 50x zoom settings. It can be more accurate by pinching and zooming in the viewfinder.

The Note 20 Ultra’s faster autofocus is also designed to give you an edge over the Note 20, so you can take pictures of animals writhing, laughing facial expressions and hummingbird beats faster, without missing the photo.

A professional video mode includes more manual equipment and image capture features that deserve to make budding filmmakers happy. This is one of Samsung’s weakest domain names for several years, compared to the latest iPhone. Like the Galaxy S20 Ultra, both phones help 8K video capture. Just know that this will make video files massive inside and outside your phone. We check this mode and also concentrate on it during a separate dive with a camera.

The writing of support is that Galaxy Note phones work better.

What would Galaxy Note be without your pencil? For the faithful, scribble, navigate and annotate are components of the phone’s charm. The same goes for the fact that the Notes app can do all of the above. These are the newest features of the Note 20 models.

New S Pen gesture navigation: When pointing the tip of the pen out of your frame (and away from your phone), press and hold the pen button while making one of five new gestures to return, move home, open a recent app, or take a screenshot with Smart Select. You can also doodle with the pen to capture the entire screen.

The S Pen responds best on the Note 20 Ultra when the 120 Hz display is on.

The popularity of handwriting improves with equipment such as automatic tuning.

Samsung Notes still gets an automatic live sync. This will purchase a note in the cloud so you can access it from any other device, as long as you are signed in to a Samsung account.

Attach and sync voice recordings: You can sync your voice note with what you type so it’s from the moment you mention the word.

Import a PDF to annotate or highlight: from printing a page or downloading it to point it out, then downloading or sending it back, you can simply mark your signature and export it again.
