Improving the cybersecurity of defence contractors through the Ministry of Defence’s new strategy

New strategic guidance has been issued through the U. S. Department of Defense. The U. S. Department of Defense has become the commercial defense base amid the development of cybersecurity threats, DefenseScoop reports.

While defense contractor compliance will continue to be evaluated as a component of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model certification program, the Defense Discomponent will expand needs and provide greater guidance, in line with the strategy. Other goals of the guidelines, which are expected to be achieved between this year and 2027, come with building a new framework for sharing risk intelligence, strengthening vulnerability testing and attack recovery strategies, and assessing the decomponent’s cybersecurity needs, as well as other goals. Strong cybersecurity component partnerships between agencies and contractors.

“In recent years, the DIB has made wonderful strides in improving cyber resilience, security, compliance, and understanding the risk landscape. Together, through the DIB’s Cybersecurity Strategy, we will advance our goals and the DIB’s cybersecurity,” the Ministry of Defense said. Chief Information Officer for Cybersecurity, David McKeown.
