I’m infinitely more excited about the Until Dawn movie now that I know one of the game’s characters is played by the original actor.

My enthusiasm for the Until Dawn movie was dampened when a PlayStation executive informed me that the adaptation would feature an entirely new cast of characters, but now THR reports that Dr. Hill actor Peter Stormare is reprising his role , and now I’m still as excited as ever.

In case you want a refresher, Dr. Hill is the psychiatrist who happens to break the fourth wall and talks to you between chapters. Her role in the overall story is one of the most engaging in the game, and in particular, Stormare’s functionality is one of the most captivating.

It’s an encouraging sign that the powers that be at PlayStation Productions have recruited him for the film adaptation, just because the production will gain advantages from his acting skills and engaging character, but also because it shows that there’s still a common thread connecting the film and its source work.

THR also reports that Maia Mitchell, known for her role as Callie Adams Foster on the long-running drama series The Fosters and its spinoff Good Trouble, and Belmont Cameli, who played Jamie Spano in the Peacock reboot Saved Through the Bell, are joining will unite. the cast of Until Dawn too.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg directs the film in his return to horror and reunites with his writer and producer Annabelle: created through Gary Dauberman for the project. A premiere date has not been announced.
