ICN and BESIX RED have jointly acquired a progression of more than 13,200 m² in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, with the ambition of transforming it into a mixed-use allocation of 42,000 m² (above ground).
The site is located in the “Sloterstrip” domain of the “Schinkelkwartier” domain, a new progression domain on the border between the districts of Nieuw-West and Zuid, and near the city center. Currently known as a district with basically offices and with a smooth commercial activity, the city of Amsterdam has ambitious long-term plans for the next 25 years and rehabilitate this domain.
“Schinkelkwartier” is expected to be a new modern, combined and sustainable district with many green spaces, canals and well served through public transport and comfortable mobility solutions. 11,000 housing complexes will be created as a component of neighborhood remodeling to meet the large call for market housing. The existing buildings on the site are lately occupied through a hardware store and a public broadcaster.
The site supplies for the progression of a mixed-use allocation of 42,000 m² divided into two phases, with 37,500 m² of residential use and 4,500 m² of offices and department stores combined.
