But there are many reasons for a NVIDIA graphics card on a card made through AMD or Intel. On the one hand, whether I love or hate it, Nvidia has a lot of software and exclusive characteristics of its graphics cards, while things like FSR (Fidelityfx Super Resolution) will work, regardless of what GPU is in your system. The characteristics such as DLSS or a super deep learning sampling make a NVIDIA graphics card a horny team, at least until the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is out with FSR 4, AI Upcaler of AMD.
Nvidia also has maximum and hard graphics cards in the market at this time, especially at the upper end. There is simply no other graphics card that can adapt to RTX 5090 in natural performance. But even when it comes to more affordable graphics cards such as RTX 4060 TI, the AI scale presented through DLSS can help stretch performance and can even push the higher resolutions of what could otherwise.
It’s still important to figure out what resolution you want to play games at, because that’s going to change what type of graphics card you want to go for. If you want to play all the newest PC games at 4K with all the settings maxed, you’re going to need a much more powerful card than someone that just wants to play World of Warcraft at 1080p.
Although graphics cards are incredibly confused devices, buying for one does not want to be a great discomfort. Whenever you keep an eye on some undeniable specifications, you have a fairly intelligent concept of what you are getting.
The most obvious thing to look for is whether or not your graphics card is actually part of the current generation. You don’t want to miss out on performance or features, especially if you’re spending hundreds of dollars on just one part of your computer. With Nvidia graphics cards, this is actually extremely easy, just look at the two numbers following the ‘RTX’ or ‘GTX’ in the graphics card’s name. Nvidia just launched its newest generation of graphics cards, which are labeled with ’50.’ If it’s ‘40,’ that’s the previous generation from 2022; ‘30’ and ‘20’ are the two generations before that.
Do not be wrong, get a 30 series card or a 20 series will offer a correct game experience, RTX 3080 is able to feed maximum games in 4K without sweating.
But what about the second two numbers? Well, take a look at the RTX 5090, the top-end graphics card on the market. Then, take a look at the RTX 4050, which is only a laptop GPU, but is way weaker. The scale typically goes from 50-90, with the higher number meaning a more powerful graphics card. When it comes to specs, graphics cards have a lot of numbers and jargon to swallow, which can indeed be overwhelming. every little detail.
The amount of VRAM you want will largely count on the solution you want to play your games on. If you want to play 4K games, you’ll want as much video reminiscence as you can. There are games that will eat more than 20GB of truth to this solution if you let them, so the sky’s actually the limit. However, for decaying solutions like 1080p, you can manage with 8GB of RAM, although I introduced OPTing with a 12GB or 16GB card if it’s in your budget. We’ve even started seeing scalpers selling this thing for $9000 on eBay, just a day after launch. If you do have the funds to get your hands on it, though, you can expect the best 4K gaming experience money can buy, even if it isn’t light-years ahead of the RTX 4090.
When I reviewed the Nvidia RTX 5090, I found that it’s around 20-25% faster than the RTX 4090 at 4K, with the performance lead obviously waning at lower resolutions. That’s a relatively small gen-on-gen performance uplift, but at the end of the day, faster is faster. The RTX 5090 largely gets its larger performance from an absolutely massive GPU, with 21,760 CUDA cores, which can boost up to 2.41GHz. That’s a sizable jump from the RTX 4090, and it’s possible primarily through a much larger power budget. This graphics card requires 575W of power to run, which is the most power a consumer graphics card has ever required – including back in the days of dual-GPU graphics cards like the AMD Radeon R9 295X2.
As such, I want a severe source of force to remain in this GPU for force. , just to make sure it remains effective when it really takes it to its limits. Because this graphics card will succeed in that force limit, especially when the multiframe generation DLSS is enabled, and that is a great component to obtain this graphics card.
Essentially, the DLSS 4 of the generation of multiple trips, or MFG, uses the nuclei Ai tensor to generate up to 3 pictures of ia of each picture represented. This can greatly its category, but can introduce a serious latency if it does not yet obtain a frequency of forged symbols. This is a feature that you deserve to light only if you already get 60 to 70 IP, but it will be rare to locate a PC game in which 5090 will have problems to reach this frequency of symbols.
Every GPU generation is a gamble of whether or not it’s going to be a huge improvement on what came before, or just fall flat. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 kind of leans towards the latter option, but that’s not to say it’s a bad graphics card. While I wouldn’t recommend anyone who has an RTX 4000 graphics card to upgrade to the 5080, it’s a good upgrade for anyone that’s been waiting a couple of generations for a new graphics card.
In my review, the RTX 5080 only ended up being approximately 11% faster and 8% faster than RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Super, respectively, at 4K. This is one of the lowest generational increases for a graphic card in years, and is still slower than the latest generation ship, the RTX 4090. But since the RTX 4090 remains much more dear than the RTX 5080, It is still the most productive NVIDIA graphics card that moves for a thousand dollars, assuming that you can locate one.
The main reason the RTX 5080 isn’t much faster than its last-gen counterpart is because Nvidia didn’t shrink the manufacturing process, remaining on a similar 4nm node, while also not drastically increasing the amount of CUDA cores on offer. Luckily, that helps avoid the massive power requirements seen on the RTX 5090, with the 5080 ‘only’ requiring 360W of power to run. That means you don’t need to fork over the cash for an expensive high-wattage power supply, which means more cash for the games you want to play.
And while this graphics card might be a little disappointing for anyone who keeps a laser focus on graphics cards every generation, playing games on this thing is awesome. Throughout my entire test suite, the only game that didn’t get 60 fps at 4K was Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition, and that was because I was running it without DLSS with Ray Tracing cranked up. Turn on DLSS, and that number is going to hit the triple digits, just like pretty much any AAA game on the market right now. Add in DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, and you should have no problem fully saturating a high-refresh 4K monitor. Just make sure you can hit 60-70 fps before you turn it on.
If you ask me, 1440p is the gold standard PC gaming resolution. Not only are the monitors much cheaper than their 4K brethren, but they’re much easier to power with affordable graphics cards. You can absolutely strap an RTX 4080 Super into a gaming PC to play games at 1440p, too, but you’re better off dialing in the performance and saving more money for games. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super is the perfect Nvidia graphics card for 1440p, no matter what games you’re playing.
In my review, I saw that the RTX 4070 Super is without problems to play maximum non -easy games such as Cyberpunk 2077 to 1440p, providing 91 IPS at the Ray Track Ultra Prese. And in games like Forza Horizon 5, this number goes to 158 IPS, which shows that the RTX 4070 Super is a game limit at the frequency of photographs greater than 1440p. And at $ 599, it is much more allowed than the RTX 4070 TI or RTX 4070 TI Super, which will charge you $ 749 and $ 7. 99 respectively.
The only problem is that Nvidia didn’t update the VRAM when updating the RTX 4070. You still get 12GB of GDDR6X memory, which is enough for peak gaming, but you could place it in easier games like the Mythos Wukong. Also, due to the low-force needs for this solution, it’s still incredibly popular with esports gamers, who can download Loopy photo frequencies that simply aren’t imaginable in 4K.
And this is what makes Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti a GIGANT 1080P OS graphics card. The RTX 4060 Ti is affordable at $399 and can seamlessly play any game at 1080p at a higher symbol rate, and I don’t mean just 60 IP. You see, in my review, I found that the RTX 4060 Ti exceeded a hundred IPs at the maximum of the games I tested. In fact, the only game in which it did not exceed a hundred IPS Cyberpunk 2077, with 76 IPs, however, this number went up to 122 IPS once I activated frame generation.
In most of the games where a super high frame rate will actually matter, the RTX 4060 Ti can easily reach upwards of 200 fps. Games like Overwatch 2, Valorant and Counter-Strike 2 will love the extra frames this GPU can spit out.
However, one thing that should be aware is that technically there are two other editions of RTX 4060 TI: an 8GB style for $ 399 and an edition of 16 GB that prices prices $ 499. For other people who wish to play at 1080P , the 8GB edition will be fine. And although, 16GB is better, it is not a value to add $ 100 additional to the value label for the two games that want more than 8GB to 1080p.
If $399 is still too expensive, you can still choose the NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super even if it’s an older graphics card through today’s standards. , While it’s more than a little at the moment, it can still offer 1080p forged games, especially in less easy games like League of Legends.
If you’re going to compromise and get this older graphics card, keep in mind that you’re missing out on many of Nvidia’s best features. This GPU doesn’t have RT cores, so it doesn’t support ray tracing, and it doesn’t have Tensor cores, which means no DLSS.
When I reviewed the GTX 1660 Super for TechRadar, I was amazed by just how well it performed at 1080p for the price. That was five years ago at this point, but Nvidia still hasn’t released a direct successor to this budget graphics card. That’s a shame, because Nvidia’s graphics architecture has grown a lot since then, and another budget card is long overdue. Luckily, Nvidia still hasn’t discontinued the GTX 1660 Super in the years since it launched and you can find it for as little as $180. Five years later and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super is still the best Nvidia graphics card under $200, however shameful that is.
Deep Learning Super Sampling, or DLSS is an AI upscaling method that uses Nvidia’s Tensor Cores to improve image quality. The Tensor Core will take visual data from the frame being rendered, along with motion vector data, in order to accurately upscale the image to a higher resolution. This process results in an image that looks pretty close to the native resolution, but with a much higher frame rate.
When it first started, DLSS had to shape the AI model in every game that disarmed developers who wanted to download knowledge from Nvidia. However, DLSS has crossed several iterations, and now it doesn’t want to be trained in individual games. Instead, if a developer needs to come with DLSS in their game, they can inject the NVIDIA API into the game. This means that more games can be used in technology, without having to wait for Nvidia’s education in each of the games.
With DLSS 3. 0, Nvidia has added the generation of paintings to the equation. This generation makes visual knowledge of two paintings, as well as the knowledge of the game’s movement vector and the movement data of its own hardware, and creates a completely new framework interspersed between the two original frames. This would introduce a lot of latency, however, Nvidia demands that its generation reflects be enabled before the generation of paintings can occur. Reflect the graphics card and the CPU, getting rid of the need for the CPU for tail for the gpu for the GPU to rendering later.
Together, Frame Generation and Reflex greatly improve your frame rate, but there’s a catch. Because so much of it relies on motion data, you already need to have a decent frame rate for Frame Generation to work smoothly. So, this technology is best used for folks that can already get 60 fps or more, and just want to push to a higher frame rate.
Ray tracing is just a way to render light realistically. It does this by taking a light source, then simulating each ray of light as it bounces around the scene. It’s a simple concept to be sure, but it ends up requiring a ton of compute power to pull off. Any light being cast potentially has thousands of rays of light, each of which will bounce around hundreds of times, multiply that by needing a new frame 60 times a second, and you can imagine how much power you need to pull it off.
That’s why ray tracing in video games wants specialized hardware to eliminate this focus without grinding your frame when it’s stationary. Thankfully, Nvidia has been running on this hardware on its graphics cards since the RTX 2080 in 2018.
Advanced to today, and even with this compromised ray tracing hardware being built into a customer’s graphics card, not just from Nvidia, we still want to restrict ray tracing to maximize performance. There are only a few games that complete Ray Tracking, or “route tracking,” with the most other games restricting ray tracing elements to a safe component of the scene, such as shadows or reflections, and also restricting the number of bounces calculated for both light rays.
It is a loved way to generate lighting, but it looks incredible, especially in games that depend on the lighting for the environment. In exodus metro, for example, exact lighting leads to darker environments, amplifying the intense game of the game already.

This article is too fanatic of Nvidia. Raytracing resembles some other Nvidia device, it is a fashion, without even running well on Nvidia cards until you use an impulse of AI. I was interested in a super 4070, but still 12 GB of vram . . . not very future. Also mention that the new 5070 will be 12 concerts. I hope not, it will be a joke. You can get an AMD 7900XT for six hundred quid now, 20 VRR concerts, and rivate without problems with the 4070 Ti Super for much less money.

Unless you have a enterprise need or certain work need, I feel the 4080 and 4090 are just way to expensive for todays gaming market, if you are just going by fps/$ for perf per $.
The 4070 Super is the most productive card they have for value right now, I prefer the 7900 GRE if you can locate it for $100 less. Or about $500. The cost is there for the super 4070, don’t be fooled through the directory before Courses, a plain 4070.
