Amazon’s Kindle is a popular pill designed for reading e-books. If you buy Kindle books on Amazon, you can read them with the Kindle app for other mobile devices like iPhone, iPad, and Android. But Amazon offers you another undeniable way to read e-books: Kindle Cloud Reader, which allows you to read your books online in almost any internet browser.
If you have an Amazon account, you automatically have access to Kindle Cloud Reader; you can open it in any popular internet browser and log in with your Amazon account credentials.
If you don’t already have an Amazon account, you need to create one before you can start using Kindle Cloud Reader. Go to Amazon and click Account & Lists at the top right. In the drop-down menu under New to Amazon?, click Create your Amazon account and follow the commands to get started. Once you’ve created an account, Kindle Cloud Reader will be in a position waiting for you.
Quick Tip: If you want to read Kindle books offline in a position without internet service, you want to use the Kindle app on a cellular device or on your computer. Kindle Cloud Reader no longer allows you to download books for offline reading.
You can upload books to your Kindle Cloud Reader via Amazon eBooks.
From Kindle Cloud Reader, do the following:
1. Click Kindle Store at the top right of the page.
2. Browse or search for books. When you have one you want, click on it.
3. On the product page of the book, select the Kindle edition. You can also see other editions on the list, such as paperbacks, hardcover books, and audiobooks.
4. Before completing the purchase, you may notice that a Deliver to: drop-down menu appears. You don’t need to choose a shortcut (such as Kindle Cloud Reader). When you buy a Kindle book, it immediately converts to have it on all your devices, adding the Cloud Reader.
5. Buy the eBook the same way.
You’ll see that the new eBook automatically appears in Kindle Cloud Reader.
Reading an eeebook in kindle Cloud Reader is simple: click on the name you need to read. The eeebook will open and you can move forward in the eeebook by clicking the arrow on the page aspect, arrow keys on the keyboard, or the space bar
You can also customize the reading experience with a small menu. To open the menu, move the mouse pointer up or down the page. Here are your options:
In uploading to those menus, you can highlight text or upload notes for long-term reference. To do this, press the desired text with the mouse and you will see a context menu appear. Choose Highlight or Note and enter a note if you want.
One of the downsides of using Kindle Cloud Reader instead of the Kindle mobile app is that Cloud Reader can be crammed with books, making it potentially difficult to find a title you want to read.
If you want to organize Cloud Reader by deleting a book, you’ll unfortunately have to permanently delete it from your Amazon account (so if you re-read it, you’ll have to buy it again). If you do this:
1. Open the Amazon website in an Internet browser.
2. Move the mouse pointer to Account and Lists and then to Content & Devices in the drop-down menu.
3. Select the checkbox for one or more books that you need to delete and then click Delete on the most sensitive part of the page.
