Please note that youth under the age of thirteen are not allowed to use collaborative playlists and this feature is not available in China (mainland), Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Cameroon, Malawi, Mali, and Uruguay.
We’ve demonstrated the steps of a new playlist, but the collaboration feature is also available for existing playlists you’ve created.
Launch Apple Music on your device and tap Library at the bottom of the screen. Then, towards the top of the screen, tap Playlists.
Tap New Playlist (at the top of the screen) and enter a name. To upload a symbol to the playlist, tap the camera icon above the playlist name and one of the 3 functions (Take Photo, Choose Photo, and Choose File).
Below the playlist name you will find the option: Show in my profile and in search. Turn it off if you need to prevent the playlist from appearing on your Apple Music profile.
Tap Create (top corner) when you’re done.
Tap the Collaborate button in the right corner (next to the 3 horizontal dots).
Enable Approve Collaborators to ensure that users with the Collaborate link can only register with your approval.
Tap Start Collaboration to generate the link and share it with messaging apps or AirDrop.
To invite more users, return to the playlist and tap the Collaborate button in the most sensitive right corner.
Tap Share Invite Link to send the link via AirDrop, messaging apps, or Mail. You can also tap QR Code to generate a QR code that other people can scan to join.
