How a YouTube designer got her first 10,000 subscribers by focusing on a niche theme and then expanding her content to 250,000

A leading-edge research firm focused on digital transformation.

After researching a secondary activity to complete her daily paintings as a number one school teacher, Maya Lee created a YouTube channel committed to teaching.

She started posting videos on the platform in 2017, and now has 259,000 subscribers and earns more cash per month through her YouTube business than as a teacher.

Lee said that making videos on a topic (being a teacher) helped relaunch his channel and create a first online follow-up.

“I learned that other people don’t need to watch a channel if I only tell them about my own life, if they don’t feel connected to me and I don’t have an audience yet,” Lee told Business Insider. “I knew I had to locate a quick niche.”

In a year, he was already making money from his videos and his channel had gained about 10,000 subscribers, all because he had attracted an audience by talking about teaching, he said.

But after spending his first year on YouTube creating videos like decorating and organizing his classroom, and documenting a day of his life, Lee moved his content to a broader topic to succeed in a wider audience.

“That was also when I saw a huge jump in my channel’s growth,” she said. “I started noticing people engaging with my content a lot more.”

She should dedicate her training content to more in her morning regimen who wakes up at 5 a.m. and on her tips for a productive morning.

Lee has several popular videos on his channel about waking up early. His most popular video, ‘Waking up at 5am’ My “Productive Morning Routine”, saw $4.8 million and grossed $8,900, according to a screenshot noted through Business Insider. The video continues to generate cash every month and attracts thousands of new subscribers to his channel, he said.

Eventually, Lee stated that his purpose was to make YouTube his main career.
