A new device may be the first to succeed in the “Holy Grail” of smartphone designs, leaving behind the iPhone levels of Apple and Samsung Galaxy.
In early June, the Chinese OLED manufacturer Visionox claimed to be the first to put subscreen cameras into mass production, releasing the camera selfie from unsightly notches or punctures. Now, ZTE, also from China, announced on Weibo that it would be the first to put such a camera on a smartphone that can be purchased.
Little is known about the phone that has still been released, however, according to a renowned industry expert @UniverseIce, the new smartphone is called ZTE A20 5G.
Of course, being the first to use such a generation doesn’t make sure it’s good. While the generation will certainly do it over time, hitting a camera under the screen lately reaches compromises in terms of camera quality and demonstrate. For example, a prototype introduced last year through OPPO still suffered from a particularly reduced soft input to the camera, as well as a visual replacement to demonstrate quality in the small domain over the lens.
Samsung and Huawei, among others, would also expand secondary screen cameras, but none seem interested in bringing their products to market, as classified ads are expected until 2021.
Regardless of the functionality of the new ZTE device, the first major edition featuring a smart secondary camera will have a significant effect on smartphone design in the coming years and the A20 5G will give the company a valuable edge to get started. competition.
