The former presidential candidate’s plans to keep the online social media page active despite his death

A tweet from Herman Cain warned that the crusade of so-called Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden would be “completely crazy” the day Senator Kamala Harris announced as her vice-presidential nominee.

“In case you think Biden’s candidacy will be crazy, Trump’s team released a new video,” the tweet said.

The comment was for Mr. Cain, not because he was ideologically inconsistent with his usual comment, but because he had died a week earlier.

Mr. Cain died on 30 July covid-19. He’s 74.

His social media and his team, adding his daughter, Melanie Cain Gallo, announced that he would continue tweeting from Mr. Cain’s account.

“We made the decision here at Cain headquarters that we would continue to use this platform for percentage of the data and concepts I believed in. He would communicate on the existing site once he was in a position to move away from it. We were hoping you’d like to read it when you retire, but made it clear that you wanted to continue,” Gallo said.

Mr Cain tested positive for coronavirus on 29 July and entered the hospital on 1 July. He was hospitalized for several weeks before succumbing to the virus.

There is an online hypothesis that Mr. Cain stuck the virus while attending Donald Trump’s failed rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where social estrangement and face masks were not enforced.

The former presidential candidate’s communications team said Cain visited supporters and attended occasions in the days leading up to his diagnosis, and said there was no way to know if Cain contracted the virus at Trump’s rally.

“There is no way to know for sure how and where Mr. Cain contracted the coronavirus,” Cain’s account tweeted after his hospitalization.

Mr. Cain is exposed to the virus because he is not only 60 years old, but he is also a level four cancer survivor.
