Instead of game or console announcements, Nintendo’s most recent Direct gave enthusiasts a sneak peek at the new Nintendo Museum, opening in Kyoto in October. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto takes a 13-minute tour of the building, on the site of a former Nintendo factory built in 1969 to manufacture game cards.
From the lobby to the Mario-themed courtyard, the tour continues to the second floor, where a huge showroom showcases the history of Nintendo products. As Miyamoto explains, this room features a physical timeline of Nintendo consoles, as well as its history as a manufacturer. of toys and playing cards.

Other exhibits in this domain demonstrate the evolution of Nintendo’s design technique, adding a demo with some of Nintendo’s exclusive peripherals, a virtual demonstration of the evolution of graphics in Mario games, and a demo demonstrating how the iconic Mario block has changed years.
While the second terrain offers a more popular museum experience, the first terrain is reserved for interactive experiences, adding an expanded virtual edition of one of Nintendo’s earliest card games. The museum includes a total of 8 interactive experiences, 3 of which are presented through Miyamoto Live. At the entrance, visitors will get a card loaded with virtual coins that can be used to notice the attractions on the first floor.
In addition to the attractions mentioned above, the museum also features a workshop where visitors who make a stopover can create their own hanafuda game cards, as well as a café and retail store. Like other popular reports in Japan, access to the Nintfinisho Museum will be obtainable by lottery when it opens its doors on October 2 this year. Fans wishing to make a stopover at the inaugural first leg in October and November have until the end of August to participate in the draw.
