Lunacy Games has signed a licensing deal with HanbitSoft to expand new AAA access to the Hellgate: London franchise. The game is Hellgate: Redemption and is in progression for console and PC.
The game is set in an as-yet-unknown world of the history of exchange and demonic apocalypse. “
“My dream is to go back to the franchise we created in 2007 many, many years ago,” said Bill Roper, CEO and co-founder of Lunacy Games. That’s why our codename for the task is Hellgate: Redemption.
“Using Unreal Engine 5, cloud-based game servers, as many commercially available answers as possible, and wonderful co-progression partnerships, we’re investing every dollar of progression in gameplay and innovation. We’re keeping the core gameplay and legacy elements of Hellgate: London in our current design, but our goal is to create a new and exciting experience that takes advantage of the many advancements the industry has noticed in the more than 17 years since the original game’s release.

In fact, I quite liked Hellgate London. . . although many even thought it was a flawed or failed game. My brother and I were playing together and it was fun. Also as an FF14 player, I was in redemption arcs. So hopefully everything goes well and maybe one day I’ll play a game of Hellgate again.
