Janmashtami 2020: Twitter is humming with Janmashtami’s greetings as others across the country post beautiful images of Lord Krishna and messages of peace and happiness. Also known as Gokulashtami, Janmashtami is one of India’s most popular festivals. The day is dedicated to Mr. Krishna’s birthday birthday party.

According to the scriptures, Lord Krishna was born in ashtami (eighth) in the Krishna Paksha or the new lunar phase of Bhadrapada (August-September). Lord Krishna’s devotees complement their houses with flowers, lighting fixtures and rangoli in Janmashtami. Special milk-based foods are offered as offerings to Lord Krishna.
