Gurman: Apple Intelligence is coming to Vision Pro, but also to HomePod

Apple has no plans to bring Apple Intelligence to the HomePod, it’s expected to come to the Vision Pro headset in the future, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.

In the most recent edition of his “Power On” newsletter, Gurman said Apple is preparing to integrate Apple Intelligence into its Vision Pro headset, but not this year. The device has enough memory to run Apple Intelligence features on the device, such as notification summaries, typing tools, and an updated edition of Siri. Apple’s UI design team is said to want to make sure Apple Intelligence looks adequate in a mixed real-world environment. The company will also need to ensure that it has enough cloud computing capacity for more devices.

Gurman doesn’t expect the HomePod to offer Apple Intelligence, but instead focuses on “an entirely new robotic device with a demonstration that includes Apple Intelligence at its core. “Apple Intelligence requires a minimum of 8 gigabytes of memory, but the HomePod and HomePod mini only have a single gig of memory. The existing HomePod is “too low-volume a product to waste engineering time” by incorporating Apple Intelligence into the device.

In the future, Gurman believes Apple Intelligence will become increasingly important to Apple devices and will be a pillar of its business. Apple Intelligence is expected to be more up-to-date than installations like iCloud, at least as occasionally as the company’s hardware and software. Offerings.
