Greencore followed Cranswick and 2 Sisters Food Group at the last primary food manufacturer to close a plant due to an increase in covid-19 cases.

The logo giant showed Friday that he had temporarily closed the Northampton plant, where he makes his own sandwiches for M-S, amid an increase in network transmission on the network and after 292 workers tested positive for the virus in the previous week.

Greencore said the resolution to close the plant would allow “all remaining colleagues at the site to self-isolate themselves as a precautionary measure” and became a component of the region’s ongoing efforts to lessen the spread of the virus.

“We have moved some of the Northampton plant’s production to other Greencore sites and are working with the visitor involved to mitigate any deficits,” he added.

The move follows Cranswick’s resolve last Thursday to temporarily close its Ballymena red meat plant in Northern Ireland after several cases were shown amid an increase in network epidemics in the region.

Meanwhile, the number of cases shown at the Coupar Angus 2 Sisters site had increased to 110 yesterday, just under a week after the poultry giant closed the facility as a precautionary measure.

A spokesman for 2 Sisters said the transformer planned to reopen on August 31, awaiting a review of the movements he had made to date.

“We continue to work heavily with the incident control team, related agencies and the Scottish government,” the spokesman said.

This comes when the processor’s sister company, Bernard Matthews, said today that manufacturing a “small percentage of its products” will be diverted to other amenities after a fireplace at its Suffolk-based Great Witchingham poultry processing plant on Saturday.

A chimney site was discovered in a factory room in a separate construction from the main production area, a spokeswoman said. Thirteen teams of chimney sites responded to the chimney site, according to local media. However, Matthews was under pressure for production to restart tomorrow, when no one had been injured at the chimney site.

The brand, which relaunched its notorious Twizzlers from Turkey this month, also showed that the product sold out, just days after it went on sale in Iceland.
