Governor McKee Announces Site Preparation Awards in Communities to Help Catalyze Development

Along with state and local officials, Governor Dan McKee today announced more than $600,000 in preparation awards for 16 projects in 11 Rhode Island communities. The awards will fund municipal technical assistance and specific innovations in plans to catalyze economic progress projects in those communities.

“The investments announced today will spur housing construction, foster economic progress in high-tech industries and revamp infrastructure throughout Rhode Island,” said Governor McKee. those projects.

“In the context of the region and the nation, Rhode Island’s economic recovery has been strong to date,” said Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor. “This site preparation program will help and promote it. sites needed for progression in 11 towns and villages in our state. The Site Readiness program partners Rhode Island Commerce with municipalities and/or personal parties to drive progress activities in the state. The site preparation awards were presented in two categories: site-specific innovations and municipal assistance.

Site-specific innovations included the development of pre-development plans and activities and allocation innovations. Projects to catalyze the expansion of complex business groups, regardless of their size, were also prioritized.

The Municipal Assistance Awards are for the progression of projects that will stimulate the progression and expansion of the progression objectives of the municipality. The funding can be used to streamline existing land use plans and authorization processes; training/education for planning/zoning board members, building agents and inspectors; assistance in the drafting of urban ordinances, updating of general plans; creation of strategic plansArrangement of marketing and matching funds/for federal grants.

“Central Falls is thrilled to get this significant investment to increase the number of housing complexes in our city,” said Mayor Maria Rivera. I hope to build over 40 housing complexes in Central Falls on those sites!

City of Burrillville: $13,250 for the Town of Burrillville’s plan for sewer and water infrastructure expansion to service two City-owned commercial parcels.

City of Central Falls: $30,000 to help make the land fit donated to a developer for the structure of at least 20 housing units. The investment would help prepare the site for progression through surveying, engineering and design services.

City of Central Falls: $30,000 for the town to expand affordable housing on a newly acquired parcel of land. The village will donate the land to an expander who will build at least six units of affordable housing. surveying, engineering and design services.

City of Central Falls: $30,000 for the Broad Street Economic Development Revitalization Plan to identify land use and rapid systems to spur the revitalization of Broad Street in Central Falls. The investment would be used to hire a representative to expand this plan, and how land is being used lately, local economic trends, and an investigation of zoning orders.

Town of Glocester: $40,000 for a public water feasibility study for the town of Chepachet to evaluate tactics to bring drinking water to the town that lately does not have access to a reliable public source of drinking water.

City of Middletown: $35,000 for Middletown to conduct redevelopment research and a total equivalent personal investment to assess conditions, utilities, and traffic for a downtown mixed-use, mixed-income project.

Providence Redevelopment Agency: $50,000 would be allocated for the design and engineering for the remodeling of the old textile machinery that is completed on 50 Sims Ave. Once completed, the area will be used as an arts center for brands and small businesses.

City of South Kingstown: $30,000 to organize a network procedure to update zoning and make planning documents around two city spaces. the construction, the creation of standards that will rotate on the street façade, the construction of pedestrian potential, and the update allows to enter and inspire the mixed-use progression.

City of Tiverton: $30,000 for a market assessment of your business park, to conduct water and sewer assessments, assess how traffic flows, and provide recommendations and a plan to move the business park and Tiverton forward.

City of Woonsocket: $50,000 to acquire and install a 150 KW backup generator and install innovations in the advertising façade of the construction of the advertising block on Woonsocket’s historic main street. A higher education establishment will be located in the construction and will direct traffic to woonsocket’s city center.

The Coletta Group, LLC: $50,000 to help acquire two parcels of land on Swan Street and Sayles Street in South Providence and for the structure of two new advertising buildings.

Heritage Place, LLC: $47,000 for complete architectural and technical predevelopment, in-car upgrades and renovations, structural fixes for new tenants, and chimney code updates.

The Incred-A-Bowl Food Company: $10,000 for the structure of their structure at 1075 South Broadway in East Providence that they purchased in November 2021. The structure is an old meat market that they are looking for to turn it into a restaurant.

Research Instruments Corporation – $75,000 to enable expansion of its R laboratories

Sterling Heritage Farms: $23,000 for full perimeter surveys at their Portsmouth site, finalize engineering plans for the farm frontage physical modification permit, create engineering plans and allow for line of force and communication upgrades and the structure of those updates.

TriSalus Life Sciences, IncArray: $75,000 to help renovate and construct its laboratory buildings in Cranston, to begin construction well and eventually expand TriSalus’ infrastructure in the state so that its offices, mavens and can be nearby.
