Google now search and map GMB profile settings [updated]

Until now, local companies or their agencies had to use the Google My Business (GMB) app or mobile site to update business information. But the company allows you to change or update the gmbT profiles directly from Maps and the search.

Google announced Thursday morning that local marketers could “create posts, respond to reviews, upload images, and update business information” directly on those client interfaces. This is what it looks like in the photos provided by Google. To do this, merchant home agencies or homeowners must be connected to the company-related Google account.

Update and fix: Google has first brought the option to update the GMB profile through search in 2017. I remembered it after the publication of this article. This is an extension of this capability on Google Maps. There are also a number of new features described below.

Look for “my business”. In Maps, you can get corporate profile picture data on the most sensitive right. In search, Google indicates that you are checking the corporate call or searching for “my business” (if you are logged in) and the “Edit” button will appear in the knowledge/profile panel and in the most sensitive of the results. .

Initially, the search for “my business” will be limited to English in the United States and, presumably, in other English-speaking countries. It will then expand to other languages in the coming months.

New concepts and recommendations. Google is also updating GMB data with a “redesigned functionality page” that contains new customer engagement data. There will also be more data (not specified), as well as “useful recommendations” on the presence of GMB. These come with the benefits of “adding data to your business profile, responding to recent visitor reviews, or using Google Ads to help your business stand out.”

Here are the new features and quick features added according to a Google spokesperson:

Why we care. According to Google’s own data, about 90% of GMB profiles are single-location companies. All over the world, I guess it can reach two hundred million places. According to research of 2.4 million gmb classified ads through Places Scout, an average of 62% of US GMB profiles are claimed. Whitespark found, in a smaller pattern of 800,000 records, that 49% had been claimed.

These new equipment will make the task less difficult and small business owners are more likely to update their GMB profiles. Access to studies and maps, rather than requiring SMEs to use the GMB app or site, deserves to encourage the participation of commercial homeowners. This can also increase the number of profiles claimed.

During the pandemic, in particular, lists of local companies played a vital role in making companies adapt to their customers. Google has added many new features to Google My Business since March.
