After offering Pixel 8 vouchers in December and slashing the original price in January and February, Google is making big sales.
The company has slashed the price of the Pixel 8 to £100 ($127) and the Pixel 8 Pro to £150 ($190. 84). This is part of Google’s spring sale, which is also recently rolling out in the US. The U. S. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have the biggest savings for U. S. buyers, shaving $200 and $250 off the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, respectively.

There are only Pixel phones on sale in the UK: Google Pixel Watch 2 (£50/$63. 61 off), Pixel Buds Pro (£69/$87. 78 off), Pixel Pill (£120/$152. 67 off) and Pixel 7a (£120/$152. 67 off) are also discounted.
This reduction of the Pixel 7a is particularly appealing, as it brings the overall value down to £329 ($418. 57), which is a discount for a phone that’s still technically complex and comes with Google’s impressive camera technology. Check out my review here. The reason why the price of the Pixel 7a has been reduced more than that of the Pixel 8 is because Google is making plans to launch the Pixel 8a imminently.
The new phone recently earned FCC certification, and Google has announced that its I/O developer convention will take place on May 14. The 7a was introduced at last year’s I/O event. Most likely, Google is in the process of liquidating its shares before the new device falls somewhere in between. So, now is the most productive time to get a new budget Pixel phone with the logo directly from the company.
Google, the only company cleaning out its warehouse, Motorola is also recently making a big sale ahead of upcoming spring releases. The company announced the deals in early March, resulting in a discount of up to $300 on entry-level devices like its Razr foldable phone. Motorola then extended the sale to St. Patrick’s Day with similar promotional prices. That ended on March 17, but it looks like the company is still getting discounts on most of its devices, according to the website.
Samsung has also discounted its Galaxy S24 lineup by 10% when shoppers use the code “7Days” at checkout, which ends today. The Korean company allows shoppers to collect coupons for greater savings. If UK cut-price hunters buy the Galaxy S24 through Samsung’s grocery app purchase and use the long-standing code ‘APP5’, they’ll get an extra 5% off the final price.
Samsung doesn’t shy away from competing with other smartphone brands by setting competitive prices for its newest devices. After the launch of the Pixel 8a, I wouldn’t be surprised if we suddenly saw the Galaxy S24 FE suddenly appear, along with the main trade-in products. costs and deep discounts for pre-orders.
Update: If you’re thinking about finalizing this deal with the Pixel 7a, your purchasing decisions just got easier. Thanks to a major leak from the Pixel 8a, Android Authority, we now have some details about the specs of the new phone.
According to Android Authority’s sources, the Pixel 8a will have a 120Hz refresh rate, compared to 90Hz on the 7a. This means a smoother viewing experience, especially when it comes to navigating the device. The display is also larger than the 6. 2-inch Pixel 8 (compared to the base unit of the 6. 1-inch Pixel 8). It also has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a peak brightness of 1400 nits of brightness with HDR.
As expected, the Tensor G3 chipset will force the 8a. But it may not be the exact same processor in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, as it uses cheaper packaging technology, which can affect heat and performance. The camera sensor setup is also the same on the 8a as it is on the 7a, which includes a 64 MP main camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide, and a 13 MP selfie camera. The processor and display are obviously the main innovations here. But what we’re still missing is the price. We’ll know more in a few months.
