Japan and Singapore appear to be among the highest hit by technical problems, according to the map through DownDetector.
Users have reported several others with Gmail on social media, such as sending and receiving emails and adding attachments.
One user said I “couldn’t send emails,” while posting, “It turns out that adding an attachment to an email fails for me and many others.”
Another user asked Gmail: “Are your servers lately down? Many other people encounter error messages when sending emails.”
Posts reporting challenges on the Gmail Twitter account will be published in multiple languages, suggesting that the challenge is widespread around the world.
Some users went beyond just informing the challenge and the idea about what it means to them, such as a message that read: “GMAIL IS IN BAS. I don’t know if this is wonderfully liberating or incredibly stressful.”
Gmail said it investigates reports of a challenge with Gmail.
