The new GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming graphics card has the same number of CUDA cores as all other GTX 1070 and the same 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, but GIGABYTE, of course, has played with clock speeds. GIGABYTE has its GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming graphics card with the GP104 GPU synchronized from its default frequency in two modes: OC and Gaming Mode.
GIGABYTE kept the 8GB of GDDR5 at 8 GHz and only overclocked the GPU up to 1822 MHz under seasoning with OC mode enabled.

This is our new segment for video card reviews, with DX12 and VR fitting a big business over the more than 12 months. Lately we only have a handful of DX12 tests, so expect this segment and our reviews to accumulate particularly in the coming months.

If you play with higher refresh rates, such as 120/144Hz and 1080p or 1440p, the GTX 1070 G1 Gaming graphics card will meet your needs. If you are a 4K player or need to interact in real virtual games with Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, then GIGABYTE covers you. The GTX 1070 isn’t as fast as the GTX 1080, but it’s also much cheaper. The upgrade paths come with the switch to an SLI system, where 2 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming Edition graphics cards on SLI would allow for ultra-fast gaming setup.
GIGABYTE continues to impress with its G1 Gaming graphics cards, and while the GTX 1080 G1 Gaming edition is faster, the GTX 1070 G1 Gaming is less expensive and powerful.
