Fulton County Community Health & Appreciation Day in the Village of Sauder on Oct. 21

On Saturday, October 21st, all citizens of Fulton County will get a $10. 00 entry prize to the Village of Sauder for Fulton County Community Health and Appreciation Day.

Visitors can write their own story as they explore Ohio’s historic afterlife and also receive valuable information on how to live a healthy life on Community Health Day.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Fulton County Health Center, all citizens of Fulton County will be able to enjoy this special $10 ticket on this special day.

Fulton County Appreciation Day is a wonderful way to inspire others in our local communities and see all the changes that have occurred over the years at the Village of Sauder.

To qualify for this special admission valid on Saturday, October 21, all citizens of Fulton County will need to be ready to present a driver’s license or other form of identity to determine their residency in the county.

Health and protection professionals from across the region will also gather in Sauder Village for the annual Community Health Day, with informative displays, fitness screenings, prizes and much more.

Representatives from Fulton County Health Center’s Diabetes Education, Oncology, Behavioral Health, Wound Care and Vascular Services departments will be on hand to share the day’s percentage data.

Hospital representatives conduct many free exams throughout the day, in addition to glucose/blood sugar tests and blood pressure tests.

Fulton County authorities will fingerprint children and network relationships, and the Fulton County Fire Association will have a variety of fire and rescue vehicles in the parking lot for visitors to explore.

Other partners in the network include Fairlawn Retirement Community and Fulton County Job.

In addition to enjoying Community Health Day activities, visitors can also take time to see the many talented artisans demonstrating their craft at places such as the spinning workshop, pottery workshop, pewter workshop, cooperage, basketry, weaving workshop, and glassblowing workshop.

The Walk by Time experience offers the opportunity to explore Indian shops and a trading booth at Natives.

The stunning 1920s Main Street is still a favorite spot where families watch what’s happening on the big screen, shop for candy at the candy store, browse clothing stores, hardware and jewelry stores, the fireplace station, meet liveried horses, and sip malt chocolate at the soda fountain. There are also many wonderful department stores and loose rides on the Erie Express train!

A layover at Sauder Village wouldn’t be complete without a delicious home-cooked meal. From chicken, ham, and mashed potatoes to soups, salads, and homemade rolls, Barn Restaurant offers a wide variety of options and special offers on the menu.

The Doughbox bakery is also a favorite, offering a wide variety of homemade cakes, cookies, sweet rolls, bread, and more. For those looking for a fun-filled getaway, the 98-room Heritage Inn offers plenty of options to spend time together by the fireplace or tall oak tree or playing in the indoor pool or hot tub!

The 87-site campground is a wonderful location for fishing, sharing stories around the campfire, or biking around Little Lake Erie.

Sauder Village is at 22611 State Route 2 in Archbold, just minutes from exit 25 of the Ohio Turnpike. The historic village is open Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 a. m. to 10:00 a. m. M. A 3:30 p. m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. The historic village is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays this season.

Regular admission is $24. 00 for adults, $18. 00 for students (ages 4-16), and free admission for members and youth ages 3 and under. AAA and senior discounts are also available.
